Travel Tip Thursday > Points Promotions
Todays Travel Tip Thursday is for frequent fliers!
If you fly Southwest alot, they rolled out two double-points promotions aimed at its frequent fliers last week. One of the promotions focuses on earning elite status in Southwest’s frequent-flier program. They are offering double “Tier Qualifying Points” on flights through January 31st (you must register prior to travel and fly by Jan 31st)
You can also participate in the double “redeemable points” program which count towards frequent-flier awards. If you are flying to or from Boston, Manchester, New York LaGuardia, Newark Liberty and Providence, you can get double points on flights flown from January 4th through Febuary 15th. If you’d like to take advantage of these benefits you must register via Southwest’s website and book tickets by tomorrow (December 30).
If American Airlines is more your style, the airline recently announced that it’s frequent-fliers can earn elite status twice as fast on flights between December 13th and January 31st. You must register for the promotion on AA’s website and use code: DEQAA.
AA says the offer will help frequent-fliers in its AAdvantage program who “need a boost to re-qualify for their current elite status level or simply want a good start for the new year. ”

Travel Tip Thursday…im back!
Sorry for lagging on my Travel Tip Thursday for quite some time but i’m back now! Instead of waiting for the new year to kick in I thought I would share with everyone something I just bought to try out during my holiday season travel. I have always been trying to find the best pillow for my time in the air…and even though I get tempted to buy this amazing pillow (picture below) from SkyMall Magazine, I just don’t think I can pull the trigger on it.
I ended up finding this pillow that looks somewhat more manageable to carry on. Its called “Kuhi Comfort” and it’s the first time I have seen this kind of pillow. This pillow has a practical design that not only allows me to sleep comfortably on a plane, but will be easy to carry on. Although it didn’t come with the cool shirt the guy above is wearing!

The program is setup to allow passengers to tap their social media accounts and pick seatmates based on similar interests beforehand. Look out for this new feature early next year!
